Who this covers
This policy covers two websites run by Ignite Partnership LLC: ignitepartnership.com and ignitepartnership.ai. Both are built and hosted the same way and the same terms cover both. We are based in Dallas, Texas, and these sites are meant for people in the United States.
What we collect
Two things: what you type into the contact form, and a small amount of information about your visit.
The form. On ignitepartnership.com it asks for your name and your email address, and gives you an optional box for a few lines about your project.
On ignitepartnership.ai it asks for your name and your email address. It also asks what you are interested in, how you heard about us, your company, your role and your company website, and gives you a box for what you are trying to solve.
If you tell us who referred you, you are giving us another person's name. We keep it with the rest of what you sent.
The hidden field. Both forms have a field you cannot see and cannot fill in. It is there to catch automated spam, which fills in every field it finds. If it comes back filled, we throw the submission away. It collects nothing from a person.
Your visit. Both sites run an analytics tool called Umami, provided by our host. It sets no cookies. It records how many people visit and which pages they read. What reaches us gets there in three different ways, and they are worth keeping apart.
Your browser identifies itself with every request it makes. That is where we get which browser you are using.
The analytics script on the page reads the page you asked for, including anything after a question mark in the address, the site you arrived from, your screen size and your browser's language setting, and sends all of them to us. That is a script collecting something, not your browser volunteering it.
Two more are worked out afterwards rather than collected. Your country is worked out from your IP address. Your device type is worked out from your screen size.
Cookies. Our analytics sets none. The pages do set one, named GAESA. It comes from Google App Engine, the layer our host runs on. We did not add it and we do not read it.
What happens when you send the form
It is emailed to Mike Covert. The address is written into the site's code and does not change.
A copy is also written to a database on our host, so that a submission is not lost if the email fails. That row holds every field you filled in, whether the email was delivered, and the time you sent it.
Nothing else happens to it. No automated research, no scoring, no profiling, and no reply written or sent by a machine. Mike reads what you sent and answers it himself.
Your IP address, when you use the form. Before the form will accept a submission, it checks whether the same internet address has sent several in a short space of time. This is to stop automated abuse. It is not used to identify you, and it is not used to follow you around the site.
Your address is held for no more than about fifteen minutes after your last submission, then discarded. It is never written to the database.
Our own software never writes your address to a file or a log. These sites run on a hosting company's machines, behind that company's own equipment, and we cannot inspect what that equipment records. What we can tell you is what our code does, and our code does not write your address down.
Why we collect it
So that Mike can read what you sent and reply to you. The analytics tells us how many people visit and which pages they read. Your internet address is checked, at the moment you submit the form, only to stop automated abuse.
Who else sees it
Three companies, and only because they run things for us.
- Replit hosts both sites, provides the database that holds the backup copy, sends the email, and provides the analytics.
- Microsoft provides the mailbox that the form email arrives in, under Microsoft 365.
- Google receives requests from your browser, because the pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts.
Each has its own privacy policy and its own retention rules. Once your information reaches them, what they keep and for how long is governed by their terms and not by this page.
We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
Indefinitely, and that is a decision rather than an oversight. Your email stays in the mailbox and the database row stays in the database. There is no expiry date, no cleanup job and no archiving. We would rather tell you that than imply a deletion schedule we do not run.
Asking for a copy, a correction, or deletion
Use the contact form on either site and say what you want. Tell us which site you used and the email address you gave us, so that we can find you. You can use the form for this even though it is the same form that collected you.
We will delete what we hold: the email in our mailbox and the row in our database. We will tell you what we removed.
One limit worth stating. The companies that run our mail and our database keep their own backups on their own schedules. Something we have deleted may still sit in one of those backups for a period we do not control and cannot shorten.
Children
These sites are for business inquiries. They are not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how any of this works, we will change this page and update the date at the top.
